Texas Top Ten

Texas farmers and ranchers grow a wide variety of agricultural commodities. With this activity, students try to list the top ten agricultural commodities grown in Texas.

Food and Fiber for the 21st Century is packed full of lessons that can be integrated into the curriculum areas of math, language arts, social studies and science. Written to grades 1-6, the resource guide uses as its foundation a unit entitled The Importance of Agriculture. All lessons are correlated to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and also address objectives for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS).
