Texas Agriculture: Life and Livelihood
An Exploration of Careers in Agriculture

This CD contains an interactive assessment students can use to help guide them toward different careers in the agricultural industry. Students can find a job they might be interested in and see a job description, education requirements, experience that might be helpful and a general salary range. Some jobs also have a short video clip of a person who works in that area, explaining what their job is like.

Also included in the CD is a game called “Agri-Know,” where one or two students can test their knowledge of agriculture in a game show format. The disc contains links to colleges and universities in Texas which have programs in agriculture and natural resources and other career websites.

The CD was designed to be used in grades 4-12, and can be used in the classroom and/or by middle and high school guidance counselors, agriculture science teachers and county Extension 4-H agents to help make students aware of the multitude of careers available in agriculture.
